Peter Jurgenstein receives Life Membership from DCA - Jan 2007

Deaf Cricket Australia hosted the welcome function at South Australia Deaf Social Club and it was that that event that Peter Jurgenstein received a prestigious Life Membership from Deaf Cricket Australia for his services to Deaf cricket.

Peter has enjoyed a long and successful association with Deaf cricket, first playing as a gifted all-rounder and working his way up to the position of Treasurer which he has held for more than 10 years.

DCA Secretary John Webb, who is the only other Life Member for DCA was pleased to present Peter the award in front of an audience of about 80 people.

Upon receiving the award, PJ, as he is affectionately known said, "It was an honour to receive this award and I have enjoyed my time in Deaf cricket and would not have done it without the support of my children".

Peter is the current General Secretary of Deaf Cricket International Federation (DCIF) who was responsible for bringing to life the 2nd World Cup after 10 years in the wilderness. Peter recently stood down as DCA's Treasurer to concentrate on his role as General Secretary of DCIF.
