1. World Cup
The 3rd Deaf Cricket World Cup is definitely ON. New Zealand has confirmed that they will be hosting the 3rd DCWC at Lincoln University at Christchurch, NZ in late
January/early February 2011. They are still working on details, but as soon as they become available, DCA will let you know.

Since the 3rd DCWC is only 7.5 months away, DCA needs to start planning NOW. This includes selection of players and officials. These are exciting times in Deaf cricket. It is
important for us all to prepare, and the sooner we start, the better our chances of winning the Deaf Cricket World Cup!

2. Application - Australian Deaf Cricket squad - players (NOW CLOSED)
DCA would like to know if you are interested to be a player for the Australian Deaf Cricket squad to participate in the 3rd DCWC. The 3rd DCWC is the pinnacle of international Deaf Cricket. Players from the 1st and 2nd DCWCs will tell you that playing in a DCWC is an amazing experience.
Players - Please register your interest along with a $200 deposit by Tuesday 20th July 2010. Click here to download the Expression of Interest form for players. Fill in and post to DCA Chairman of Selector, Kevin Smith. Late entries will not be accepted.

3. Application - Australian Deaf Cricket squad - officials
DCA would like to know if you are interested to be an official for the Australian Deaf Cricket squad to participate in the 3rd DCWC.
Officials - Please register your interest along with a $200 deposit by Friday 20th August 2010. Click here to download the Expression of Interest form for officials. Fill in and post to DCA Chairman of Selector, Kevin Smith. Late entries will not be accepted.

5. Refund for non-selected players and officials
There will be a $200 refund for those who have missed selection of the 3rd DCWC. The refund will take place as soon as possible after selection announcements.

6. Other notes about Australian Deaf Cricket squad
• DCA will ensure that costs are kept to a minimum for the 3rd DCWC. DCA are in partnership with Cricket Australia and The Lord’s Taverners Australia. They will provide support wherever possible. However, DCA wishes to encourage everyone to start planning fundraising events to cover some costs of the tour.

• Selection of the Australian Deaf Cricket team will be announced in early August 2010.

• Selection of the Australian Deaf Cricket officials will be announced in early September 2010.

• Selection of the Australian Deaf Captain and Vice-Captain will be announced in due course. An Expression of Interest form for Captain and Vice-Captain will be sent to
selected players in August 2010.

• DCA are waiting for more information regarding dates, fixtures, budgets etc. from New Zealand. As soon as that information becomes available, DCA will send another
memo like this one with the information.
